SPECIAL COLLECTION

CONTRIBUTIONS WELCOME!

Dear Participants of IBPRO2025,

we are proud to be organizing a Special Collection in collaboration with  Selin Kara, Bekir Engin Eser, Pablo Domínguez de María, Vicente Gotor-Fernández, and Gonzalo de Gonzalo (guest editors). We would be delighted if you could contribute. Should you wish to accept this invitation, please complete this form.

On February 13th, 2025 we lost a great colleague, friend, supervisor, and mentor, Iván Lavandera. To commemorate his legacy in the field of biocatalysis, this Special Collection will be dedicated to Iván Lavandera, and so this Special Collection will feature contributions both from participants of IBPRO2025 and Ivan’s laboratory alumni and scientific colleagues. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who may be interested in contributing.

We welcome contributions of all types, but the submission of your next high-impact research article is particularly encouraged. To assist with planning, we would greatly appreciate receiving a response from you by 13th June 2025. The submission due date is 30.09.2025 – please let us know if you would like to participate but require additional time.

We hope that you will agree to submit a manuscript to this Special Collection and look forward to hearing from you, also with any questions you may have.

Form submission please via:

In Memoriam of Professor Iván Lavandera Garcia

On February 13th, 2025 we lost a great colleague, friend, supervisor, and mentor, Iván Lavandera. Iván was a brilliant scientist with lots of energy and enthusiasm to inspire people around him for research and teaching within biocatalysis. Ivan’s contributions to biocatalysis were nothing short of remarkable. But beyond his professional achievements, Iván was known for his kindness, generosity, and collaborative spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, share his knowledge, and support his colleagues. His presence will be greatly missed, but his impact will remain with us. In gratitude to Iván and to commemorate his legacy, we wish to dedicate to him the IBPRO2025 Special Collection organised together by ChemBioChem, ChemCatChem, and Chemical Engineering & Technology. This special collection will host contributions from IBPRO2025 participants but will also feature invited articles from Ivan’s laboratory alumni members and scientific colleagues.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Selin Kara, Bekir Engin Eser, Pablo Domínguez de María, Vicente Gotor-Fernández, Gonzalo de Gonzalo (guest editors)
